Rapid growth in Charlotte area!!
George Crump started The Stone Man in Charlotte, NC as a one-man show working in the evenings and on weekends. The first work performed was for a friend in 2002. From 2002 – 2004 George built a reputation for great service, professionalism, and a unique, high quality product. Gradually, news of “The Stone Man” and his authentic old-world techniques spread, until George decided the time was right to quit his day job as an Engineer, and go into the stone business full time.
The first employee was hired in December, 2004. From 2004 to 2007 the company has expanded to become one of the better known names in the stonework industry here in Charlotte. Name recognition has been helped by lengthy articles in the two largest local newspapers; The Charlotte Observer and The Rock Hill Herald. Additionally, our displays at the Southern Spring Home and Garden Show have won us awards each year that we have entered. As we grow, we find ourselves able to take on an increasing variety of projects. While our main focus remains residential, we have been fortunate to work at some of the areas best golf courses and country clubs, along with initiating volunteer efforts to preserve some of Charlotte’s oldest surviving historic stonework.

The focus of the company is overridingly based on quality, and our work is second to none. Intense training of all employees is key to this goal. At the same time we are constantly improving our business system, and promoting the most ethical, common-sense business practices that we can achieve. Our success speaks to the validity of this joint focus: we now remain booked for months in advance, and have many satisfied customers.
