Our mission is to preserve the craft of stone masonry and spread the ancient stonework of Scotland across the USA.
In the Ancient World, the first men erected giant slabs of stones in circles. They worked the stone, shaping it, moving it, struggling with it, to build monuments to their Gods. Later, men and women built shelters from stone. The stone was hard to work with, but never deteriorated. For millennia, mankind knew stone. We lived in stone, surrounded by it. Thousands of us spent our lives working with it. Later still, we built whole cities of stone. We built homes, castles, churches, cathedrals, pyramids, monuments, all from stone. In the Old World, we used stone to shelter our animals. Our ancestors worked the stone, shaping it, struggling with it. They built miles of walls, up steep slopes, and through valleys. All the greatest of man’s achievements have been recorded in stone. Stone heritage will live forever. It’s a part of us all.
