A Refined Backyard Escape
An Outdoor Living Space Framed by Fire & Stone
From the paver layout to the fire feature, every element was selected for its balance of function, durability, and visual impact. With places to cook, gather, and retreat, the space blends fire, stone, and light into a cohesive outdoor living experience—designed to welcome and endure.
Project Overview
Crafted for a feature home by a prominent builder, this backyard invites you to slow down, step outside, and stay awhile. Along the edge of the yard, a full-circle stone Moongate rises above a flowing water feature, designed with the feel of an infinity-edge pool. This sculptural centerpiece sets the tone with calm, modern character and intentional framing.

The Vision
Design a backyard that feels like a destination. One that’s not only beautiful, but also layered with comfort, functionality, and flow, ready to support daily life and inspire future homeowners the moment they step outside.
The Approach
We shaped the space around experience, using outdoor rooms with thoughtful transitions, clean geometry, and a warm, natural material palette.
The patio layout combines large-format Techo-Bloc Para pavers with a modular blend of Aberdeen and Everest pieces, arranged in a custom pattern inspired by the builder’s model design. Tones of Caffe Crema, Shale Grey, and Rock Garden Brown define each zone, while consistent use of Indiana limestone and clean bed edging ties the space together with refined continuity.
The Result
The finished space invites imagination. From quiet mornings to evening gatherings, this retreat offers the kind of flexibility and presence that turns a backyard into something more, something worth staying for.
Dine at the Edge
A covered patio just beyond the home offers a welcoming place to start the day or settle in for a shared meal. The dining area sits on Techo-Bloc Para HD2 Smooth pavers in Caffe Crema, offering a warm, modern foundation. The smooth finish and clean color palette keep the space light and approachable.
Fire Draws You In
At the center of the yard, a long linear fire table becomes the natural gathering place. The base is finished with Berkshire Full Color Indiana limestone veneer and Hampton limestone caps, adding warmth and contrast. Raffinato Smooth bed edging in Shale Grey defines nearby landscaping and seating transitions with crisp geometry.
The Kitchen in View
The grill, fridge, and bar seating are housed in custom stonework finished with Indiana limestone veneer and Hampton limestone caps, matching the fire feature and water wall for material consistency. Positioned for flow and convenience, this kitchen supports hosting without ever feeling tucked away.
Sheltered in Style
Toward the back, a wood-beamed pavilion creates a shaded retreat grounded in Everest HD2 pavers in Shale Grey. The stone fireplace, clad in Indiana limestone veneer with Hampton limestone caps, echoes the materials used across the kitchen and fire feature. Whether it’s game day or a quiet Sunday, this space is made for staying awhile.
